A complete electronic manual is built into
Inteliprompter, and can be found by clicking on
Help... Inteliprompter Help. It is a detailed,
searchable, indexed help manual. |
| Getting
Started |
 |
Inteliprompter can be started either by going
to Start... Programs... BayCoast Group...
Inteliprompter, or by double-clicking on the
Inteliprompter Shortcut on the desktop. Once
Inteliprompter loads, take a look at the sample
script by clicking on File... Open, and then by
clicking on Sample Script, then Ok. You can now
edit this script, just as you would in a word
processor, or click on the green light to begin
prompting. Once in prompter mode, you can use the
following keys:
- Scroll Faster - Right arrow key
- Scroll Slower - Left arrow key
- Start/Pause Scrolling - Spacebar,
- Quit Scrolling (back to Editor) - Esc
key.

| Configuration |
 |
In order to use your joystick or the optional
hand speed controller, it will need to be
calibrated. This is a simple procedure and can be
accomplished by clicking on the menu item:
Configure... Configure Controller. Click on the
button of the device you wish to use, and follow
any on-screen prompts to calibrate the device
(Not necessary for the mouse).
Bear in mind that only one of the controllers can
be setup at any given time.
Try the Mouse/Keyboard combination as a start.
You can always see which controller is currently
selected by looking in the lower-left side of the
Configure Controller pop-up screen. |
| Scroll Speed
Limits |
 |
Inteliprompter was designed to function on a
wide variety of computers. Obviously, different
speed computers will execute the prompting
routines at different speeds, necessitating an
overall speed adjustment, or what we call the
Scroll Speed Limits. Inteliprompter is set, by
default, to the speed of an average 200Mhz
Pentium. This calibration may be fine for you,
but if not, read on to learn how to adjust the
limits for your computer.
To determine the right speed for your computer,
load up any script, and then start prompting.
Using your keyboard, run the speed at its slowest
setting by pressing the End key. If the script is
moving way too slow, the Slowest Scroll
Speed Limit number should be decreased. If
the script is moving too fast, it should be
increased. Next, run the speed at its
fastest setting by pressing the Home key.. If the
script is scrolling too fast, or the speed change
responds too slowly, then the Fastest Scroll
Speed Limit needs to be increased. To change
either limit, return to the editor screen and
click on Configure... Set Scroll Speed Limit. The
Slowest screen will appear first. Change the
number as necessary, and click Ok. Next, the
Fastest screen will appear. Change the number as
necessary, and click Ok. Now check the scrolling
speed again..
Repeat this process until you are happy with the
performance.. This calibration information is
saved for all future prompting sessions. |
| Troubleshooting
|
 |
If you are having difficulties getting
Inteliprompter to perform properly, we strongly
recommend that you first:
- Check your computers specifications
against the system requirements listed on
the box.
- Set your screen resolution to 640 X 480 @
256 Colors (8-Bit). Other settings may
not always produce smooth scrolling or
command response on some computers.
If none of the above solutions remedy the
problem, see the Application Notes section of the
Online Help.
